Social Science- Intro to Sociology
SOC 1010-016
Instructor: Michael Cupello
Spring 2011 Semester
In Sociology, we were asked to post some sort of sociological symbol that we would have not noticed otherwise. This stuck out to me one day, it made me think... "This person definitely thinks that they are better than most people, including the president of the U.S." I find things like this funny, mostly because people spend so much time criticizing the government, which has NEVER been good enough for most American people, somedays me included, when they usually don't know much about what is going on or why that president is doing what they're doing. I do not care either way, but I think if this person were to be asked what their issue with Obama is, they probably couldn't tell you. I had half a mind to stick around and see what happened, but I had a Sociology class to get to.

Spring 2011 Semester
In our criminal justice class, we were assigned a research paper on the subject, "Do Police Officers Need a College Education?"
I found this research paper interesting, I found the interworking of the Criminal Justice System very detailed and complicated, built on a strong foundation to protect and serve. Below are my thoughts and findings on this subject, the answer was not as set in stone as i originally believed it to be. Many precincts have different standards on the education of their police officers. The most prevalent information i found was that even though it is not a definite yes or no to the above question, as the time passes- it has become more sought after to have a college education to become an officer.
