Interdisciplinary - Personal Finance

FIN 1050-007

Instructor: Anton Andrus

Spring 2011 Semester

In my personal finance class, we learned an enormous semester-long lesson on our personal finances and how to conduct them.  Mr. Andrus was a wonderful teacher, he had a great sense of humor but was stone-cold serious when he gave us advice in regards to how to plan our future to benefit ourselves.  A goal I set and have kept from this class is to never struggle financially (based on things I can control and my own financial decisions.)  I believe the section of the course I learned the most from was the life-planning area of this course.  We went into detail on how to plan for the unknown.  We learned the importance of life insurance, Personal Will, and pre-planning of the funeral services.  He had specific examples, with dates and times on how these things he taught benefited his students after his class.  He wrote enough stories,  that he wrote a book based on his experiences with students, titled "12,000 Students Later."
